i2i television is one of the original micro TV enterprises which sprang up after local TV licences were handed out by the government at the beginning of this decade.​​

Many regions, out of the equation because regulators in the UK can't seem to get their heads around the idea of tiny town TV being viable or even profitable.

Fortunately the government doesn't regulate the Web and the opportunity to produce micro tv for smaller communities was available for those willing to take up the challenge.

Experimenting with television on the Internet is a challenging undertaking. Despite research that has gone into video web presentation, the reaction of viewers and the even more challenging response of advertisers, has meant that 'webcasters' have yet to find a totally successful all-web formula.

i2i TV is leading the way. We have reacted successfully to the new television medium of the internet by developing a mix and match formula.

It has not been without its trauma, disasters and failures. But we have stuck with it and are now proving small scale TV can work.

Executive Producer Keith Hayes helped develop a micro tv service in Lewes that demonstrated that truly local TV can defy the critics and be attractive to audiences.

The error made in the first attempt was by departing from a terrestrial type service and trying to follow the limiting spot video presentation utilised by standard web sites.

A second attempt mixing a web service for local consumption with a wider brief for terrestrial broadcasters fell foul of the estimated number of people required to put out a magazine type programme. So the cost of of production against advertising revenue was prohibitive.

i2i TV has taken the 'lessons learned' from these two failures to develop a formula that works, a formula which is cost affectective and programme content that can challenge major broadcasters as an alternative viewing outlet to terrestial viewers.

We produce programmes for our own outlets (web and local niche) and sell them on to other niche and local UK TV broadcasters, which are sold to them either as a programme unit or to show for free but allowing us to retain advertising and sponsorship rights.

This formula sees the cost of a programme paid for by local advertisers and then sold on at no extra cost to us.

This has proved very successful and we are presently co-producing shows with an American company to the same formula in the US.

                  WE ARE NEW. WE ARE UNIQUE. WE ARE MICRO AND WE ARE SUCCESSFUL.

We are operating against all the odds, against all predictions of micro tv failing and we are having fun doing it.
